Overview of Responsibilities:
The CNC Machinist will be required to set-up and operate both vertical and horizontal computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The CNC Machinist must be familiar with a variety of CNC concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Job Elements:
  • Perform complex machining operations on a CNC milling machine can read and understand G-code
  • Mentor fellow employees to resolve complex machining problems.
  • Extensive knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Produce quality parts in a timely manner.
  • Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specification, using precision measuring instruments
  • Work with Machinists, Project Managers and Engineers to solve problems and improve processes
  • Proper use of cranes for overhead lifting
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5 years related machine shop experience or completed Journeyman papers years
  • Proficient knowledge of trigonometry and geometry machinist mathematical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of CNC machining technique.
  • Proficient at reading and understand measuring devices
  • Proficient at reading and understand blueprints and shop drawings including geometric tolerances.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 60 lbs. (unassisted) 
Preferred
  • 3 + 2 axis machining
  • Experience with Mastercam
  • Programming ability and/or experience
  • Associates degree in related field
