Ready to take the next step in your manufacturing leadership career?  At Kurt J. Lesker Company, you will lead a talented team of CNC machinists producing complex, precision components used in semiconductor, aerospace, medical, energy, scientific research, and advanced technology applications around the world. This is more than a production supervisory role.

Why Manufacturing Leaders Choose to work at KJLC?

Lead skilled teams and complex machining work while solving challenging manufacturing problems and improving technology, tooling, quality, and productivity. Help shape future equipment and investment decisions, develop the next generation of manufacturing talent, and build your career with a stable, global manufacturer. How will you make an impact?

As our CNC Operations Supervisor, you will lead and develop a team of highly skilled CNC machinists producing complex, custom-engineered components in a low-volume, high-mix environment. You will bring both manufacturing leadership and machining expertise to the role, helping your team solve problems, improve processes, meet customer commitments, and continuously raise the bar for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.  If you enjoy being close to the shop floor, developing people, solving technical challenges, and seeing the direct impact of your leadership, this is an opportunity to make your mark.

Lead and Develop People

  • Lead, coach, and develop CNC machinists across multiple shifts, creating an environment built around accountability, teamwork, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
  • Match work to employee skills, development opportunities, capacity, and production priorities.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance development, cross-training, engagement, and succession planning.

Drive Manufacturing Performance

  • Own daily execution across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Coordinate machining priorities, schedules, and resources to meet production and customer commitments.
  • Use performance data to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.

Solve Complex Manufacturing Problems

  • Provide hands-on leadership when challenging machining or production issues arise.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions, partnering with machinists, Engineering, and Quality to prevent recurrence.
  • Champion 6S, standard work, process discipline, and machining best practices.

Help Shape the Future of the Machine Shop

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment, tooling, programming, processes, workflow, and capacity.
  • Participate in evaluating new CNC equipment, technology, automation, and capital investments.
  • Maintain the documentation, work instructions, and training needed to sustain improvements.

You Will Thrive in This Role If You...

  • Are a leader who understands machining, not simply a machinist who has been given a leadership title.
  • Enjoy spending time on the shop floor, coaching employees, setting expectations, and removing barriers.
  • Get energized by solving difficult manufacturing problems.
  • Believe great results come from developing people as well as improving processes.
  • Are comfortable making decisions and holding yourself and others accountable.
  • Want to leave the operation better than you found it.

What You Will Bring

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive CNC machining experience, including leadership experience as a supervisor, team lead, cell lead, senior machinist, or similar role.
  • Associate degree, technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, G-code, CNC programming, CAM systems, tooling, speeds and feeds, and precision manufacturing practices.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T and using precision measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, continuous improvement, and 6S.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 60 lbs.

Preferred

  • Experience leading CNC teams in a custom, low-volume, high-mix machining environment.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, 6S, and operational excellence principles.
  • Experience hiring, onboarding, coaching, and developing manufacturing employees.
  • Experience evaluating, justifying, or implementing CNC equipment, automation, tooling, or other capital investments.
  • Experience in vacuum technology, semiconductor, aerospace, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience helping develop apprentices, junior machinists, or future manufacturing leaders.
