How You'll Make an Impact: 

As a CNC Supervisor, you'll manage team of high skilled CNC machinists responsible for delivering complex, custom-engineered products in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment where quality, safety, and continuous improvement are critical to success. You will provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance across machining operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are achieved. You'll develop your team, drive operational improvements, support production priorities, and help create an environment where employees and processes perform at their highest level. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Lead, coach, and develop CNC machinists and manufacturing personnel across multiple shifts, assigning work based on skills, capacity, and production priorities  
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets  
  • Monitor key performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and efficiency  
  • Troubleshoot production and machining issues, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions  
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, manufacturing procedures, and 6S principles  
  • Maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and training materials  
  • Manage departmental resources, equipment, tooling, supplies, and maintenance requirements  
  • Review and approve employee time records and support workforce planning activities  
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Clean Room, CNC, Weld, and Manual Operations teams to achieve production objectives  
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment focused on operational excellence  
  • Support employee hiring, performance management, development, and succession planning efforts  
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

Required 

  • 10+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience  
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or related experience  
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, manufacturing operations, CNC programming, G-Code, CAM software, and precision inspection techniques 
  • Experience with GD&T, CMMs, precision measuring equipment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions  
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate employees  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and 6S workplace organization principles  
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and perform the physical requirements of the role 

Preferred  

  • Experience leading CNC machining teams in a custom, low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment  
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and machining best practices  
  • Experience managing employee hiring, development, performance, and engagement  
  • Experience evaluating and implementing capital equipment investments  
  • Experience in the vacuum technology, semiconductor, aerospace, or precision manufacturing industries
