The Kurt J. Lesker Company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Operations Manager to lead our facilities and maintenance team which is responsible for our facilities throughout the U.S.  This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring our buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and critical systems support a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. 

The ideal candidate combines strong technical facility management expertise with proven leadership skills, project management experience, and a passion for continuous improvement. This role oversees facility operations across multiple sites, manages capital and maintenance projects, and plays a key role in supporting the company's growth and long-term facility strategy. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the maintenance and operation of all U.S. facilities, grounds, and infrastructure
  • Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, security, and life-safety systems
  • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs and facility standards
  • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing facilities and maintenance team
  • Manage contractors, vendors, service agreements, and facility-related budgets
  • Lead renovation, expansion, and capital improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building regulations
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and business continuity planning
  • Manage the company vehicle fleet, including maintenance, compliance, and replacement planning 
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the employee experience
  • Partner with leadership on facility strategy, site planning, and future growth initiatives

Qualifications: 

Required 

  • 10+ years of progressive facilities, maintenance, or plant engineering leadership experience
  • Strong mechanical and building systems knowledge including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and facility infrastructure
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and facility service agreements
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility maintenance management software (CMMS preferred)
  • Ability to travel between company locations as required and active driver’s license 

Preferred 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience managing capital projects and facility expansions
  • OSHA, safety, environmental, or facility management certifications 
  • Fleet management experience
