Position summary:

As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving the processes throughout PED using continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles. You will work on various projects that aim to enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability. You will also collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that the processes are aligned with the company’s goals and standards. How you will contribute:

  • Analyze existing business processes using various methods such as gap analysis, PDCA, etc. to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitates improvement activities including training, mentoring, kaizen events, six sigma projects, tool deployment, and benchmarking
  • Lead the division’s 6S initiatives by planning, leading, and facilitating continuous improvement workshops and projects to drive results
  • Work with leaders to address complex issues and utilize data from non-conformances to improve production processes and customer satisfaction
  • Drive CAPA to ensure proper containment occurs and root-cause analysis is performed to resolve problems
  • Review data for trends, ensure root-cause investigations occur timely and implemented corrective actions are effective
  • Achieve cost reductions within the specific product areas, with design engineering changes, semi-automation, or automation of equipment

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, etc.)
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment utilizing root cause analysis tools and methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, 5S, kaizen, etc.)
  • 1-3 years experience in a Continuous Improvement or similar role
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude (e.g., intuitive understanding of mechanical / assembly processes)
  • Strong change management, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Preferred

  • Competent in data analytics such as Minitab, MS Access, and MS Excel.
  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence
  • Project Management Experience
  • Knowledge / Experience in vacuum technology
