Overview of Responsibilities: 

The Engineering Manager at KDF Technologies oversees a diverse engineering team, ensuring compliance with company methods and policies, adapting to business changes, and leading the team to achieve high-quality results on time. The role involves proactive and reactive job management throughout the design and manufacturing process, with a focus on aligning methods, equipment, and personnel with the company’s evolving business needs and strategic objectives. 

Key Job Elements: 

  • Direct, train, develop and support your team in daily operations, ensuring roles are effectively managed and staff is adjusted to aligned with business requirements 
  • Perform high level mechanical engineering support which may involve CAD design, calculations, and FEA 
  • Achieve operational goals and enhance production by identifying and addressing root causes of issues, leading to effective and lasting solutions 
  • Ensure the delivery of a quality product or service, on time and at the right cost 
  • Ensure accurate and up to date process documentation & and generate plans for future growth  
  • Ensure timely compliance with Company workplace policies and procedures 
  • Work with other divisional and company managers to achieve divisional and corporate goals and objectives 
  • Promote a culture of best practice Engineering department 
  • Create, train and enforce department policies and work instructions 
  • Drive cost effective and manufacturing friendly solutions 
  • Manage budgets and timelines relative to project tasks 
  • Engage with Sales, Customers, and Vendors, collaborate with the internal machine shop for cost-efficient manufacturing, and manage the coordination and implementation of Corrective Action Requests and Long-Term Corrective Actions 
  • Ensure a safe & environmentally friendly work environment  
  • Occasional domestic and international travel 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering  
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in mechanical engineering   
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering management/supervision role 
  • Proficient in a CAD system and PDM software  
  • Highly self-motivated, persistent and able to work well in a fast-paced environment 
  • High level of initiative, judgment, and discipline 
  • Strong management and leadership skills  
  • Strong professional communication skills  
  • Well organized  
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, domestic or international 

Preferred 

  • 2 years’ experience with Solid Edge or equivalent CAD system 
  • Experience in the Vacuum industry 
  • Master’s Degree in a related field
