2026 Materials Operations Intern 

The Materials Operations Intern at Kurt J. Lesker Company will support the Materials Division by assisting with material identification, inventory organization, and recycling preparation activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to materials operations, supply chain coordination, and product management in a production environment. The intern will work closely with Materials Supply Chain and Product Management teams while supporting multiple projects in parallel.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Use XRF equipment to positively identify materials 
  • Sort and batch materials by metal family 
  • Develop and maintain detailed material inventory lists 
  • Coordinate with Procurement to identify and source recycling partners 
  • Prepare materials for shipment, recycling, or disposal 
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously as priorities shift 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in a technical, science, or engineering-related college program 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Prior work experience (internship, co-op, or part-time experience acceptable) 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Exposure to materials science or related coursework
